The importance of building healthy business relationships became evident to me very early. My journey into Corporate Leadership began back in 1994. It all started with a Pharma company.
National Sales Manager then was Derek McMillan. Last week, Derek asked me to facilitate a program for the company he is now CEO – 28 years after our first program together!
Many of my clients, like Derek, have valued the partnership of working and collaborating with Bridgeworks.
Never Underestimate The Power Of Relationships And Building Trust.
Here are 3 tips to build valuable business relationships
1 -Product, Process and People (3P’s)
Of course, getting your systems and processes right is a big priority for business. Wholly focussed on getting product and process right at the cost of letting important relationships slip away from you is losing Gold. Get ALL the 3P’s right, including people, and you will be unstoppable!
2 – Connecting Strategies
One strategy I have practiced over 20 years in business is conducting regular leadership breakfasts. Bridgeworks has clocked up over 60 with around 4,000 leaders sharing the latest from leaders across business. Having 80-150 of your clients in the same space provides a brilliant opportunity to add value to your relationships.
Keep your eyes out for our next Leadership Breakfast at Crown on Friday 28th April 2023 where the focus will be cyber security. Mark the date in your calendar! There is gold in reconnecting with clients, fabulous networking between employees and bringing collaboration to life with the interaction between clients.
I will let know the details early in 2023.
3 – Finding Regular Gold
Another strategy I have systemised in my business is setting up 3,6- & 12-month reminders to check the pulse of my clients and their respective business.
Recently I reconnected with a client who was part of a Bridgeworks program 12 years ago. A coffee check in together was the main objective. That coffee has now led to a significant leadership program to be conducted over the next four months.
One of the crafts that we have fine-tuned at Bridgeworks over the years is sharing these strong elements of generating trust and willingness to collaborate to build business culture.
The Culture Code
If building your business culture is a priority based on relationships, I recommend Daniel Coyle’s “The Culture Code”. Coyle combines cutting edge science, on-the-ground insight and practical ideas for action. From this foundation readers are guided to build a roadmap for creating an environment where innovation flourishes, problems get solved, and expectations are exceeded.
The good news is that Coyle’s book is available on audio.
Make 2023 the Year of building and consolidating business relationships.
Talking about relationships, may Christmas be a time where you refresh family relationships and plan 2023 to be a great year for collaboration.
Looking forward to checking your pulse in 2023!
